The Ominous Parallels

I am approximately two-thirds of the way through this book.  I have never read it before.  I find it to be one of the most fascinating and insightful books I have ever read.  It explains a lot of things in history and in modern culture that I was previously unable to understand the causes for.

A most interesting book. Read it several years back and as much as I find "prediction" books speculative at best and just downright doom and gloom at their worst, this one shows the philosophical kindling which made Nazi Germany possible and shows where it is smoldering in modern America.

It would be interesting if he updated the work, if only to show the variations of the theme prevalent 30 years later. Variations such as environmentalism and "outsider protectionism" which the Nazi's used openingly are slowly bubbling up in the US.
